jc band fest

ahhh the concert was not fantastic... the first band sounded really bad when we were listening backstage (lolz excuse my bluntness)... as for our band st florian was disappointingly lousy. of course copacobana more than made it with mr atarishi's shen showmanship skills but yea i think ultimately we left the audience feeling high and euphoric which is kinda a success no matter how lousy the rest of the performance was :) i wonder how well the other bands played tho...

but yea even tho the performance wasn't fantastic, i'm glad i still went for it. the whole experience was invigorating and enlightening. yep definitely those two words.

enlightening... to experience the new conductors' methods and to have sectionals with the charismatic young pro cj conductor, and to rediscover the joy of interacting with new ppl with interesting personalities (thot i lost that forever and was stuck in an antisocial shell... guess it takes an experience like this to prove me wrong).

invigorating... the chaos this chunk of commitment (like a bomb shattering e peace in december -.-), the energy and hectic-ness of it all (spending whole days out of the house waking up at 7 to take mrt all the way to freaking boon lay lolz even tho sitting down in the train listening to music and falling asleep all the way to boon lay has a unique luxury to it) getting caught up in the rush of duties is just that exhilarating. it banished the lethargy, renewed my energy and revived my spirit :) i sound like i'm writing a sermon.

i don't often blog abt events in my life... guess this one made quite an impact. perhaps i'm making more out of it than it actually was but i'm glad this came along as a precursor to e start of school. not that i minded the tranquility of repetition and passiveness in the past few weeks but i really enjoyed this, surprisingly.

faintly regret not getting to know the ppl better...
